Has your site been penalized? Here's how I got mine removed and my traffic back. It's a devastating feeling. Google pushes out a new update to their algorithm and your rankings disappear. All that hard work and it feels like it has been for nothing. If we are honest with ourselves, most of us push the boundaries when we are trying to rank well. Unfortunately Google has a knack of eventually catching up with us and penalizing our sites. It's at these times, we've got to not get sentimental and just "man or woman up" and figure out how to fix the problem. Don't give up. It's definitely possible to fix. #574 APn: How I doubled my search traffic with only on-page changes

It's really annoying for most small businesses.

Unfortunately, there is no avoiding it.

The requirements for ranking well in the search engines is only getting tougher.

I mean, I get it.

Google is really raising the bar in terms of the quality of both the content and the links.

Increasing the quality of the content is great. For far too long crappy quality content has found its way to the top of the search results.

However, the bar is getting so high for link signals, that it's heavily favoring big brands way too much.

As a result it's easy to get discouraged.

Well don't get too despondent just yet. 

Over the past month or so I've managed to double the search traffic to AssociatePrograms with ONLY on-page changes.

That's big.

It means that you've probably got a ton of potential in your existing site to improve your rankings without having to get a single new link.
